South Sámi grammar tools

For South Sámi, our morphological tools are not ready yet, but closed parts of speech and and verbs are approaching good coverage. Analysing words in context (disambiguation and syntax) is still in the beginning.

Programs

We have made grammatical analysers and generators. Here are the links to the programs:

Text analysis

Analyse, disambiguate and hyphenate text.

Paradigm generation

Generates paradigms of different sizes for any word.

Word generation

Generates wordforms using lemma and grammatical tags.

Number word generation

With numbers (1, 23, etc.), the program generates the corresponding number word.

Generate placenames

Write placenames in Norwegian or Finnish, and get the corresponding place name in Sámi, or vice versa.

The South Sámi tools are in the making, and large parts of the grammar are still not working. We will focus upon improving the South Sámi programs in 2009 and 2010.
