CG workshop: New developments in Constraint Grammar

Within full-scale parsing applications, constraint grammar is the dominant framework for parsing Nordic languages. It is used in the industry (e.g. Microsoft/Lingsoft, Connexor), and it also constitutes the fundament for several academic projects aiming at corpus tagging, treebanks and pedagogical programs (e.g. Odense, Oslo, Tromsø). Contrary to other grammar-based parsing frameworks, and perhaps due to its commercial success, constraint grammar has not to the same extent been able to establish academic networks and arenas for promoting cooperation and joint research. The purpose of this workshop is to address this problem. In order to strengthen the fundament for full-scale parsing of Nordic languages, bringing together researchers within constraint grammar parsing is an important goal.

A further goal of the workshop is to make the work within one of the most successful parsing frameworks more visible to the community as a whole.
