5.2. 2010: Giellatekno launches Åarjelsaemien-daaroen digibaagkoeh, a digital intelligent dictionary South Sámi - Norwegian.
Giellatekno, the centre for Sámi language technology, builds language technology for Sámi and other northern languages, like proofing tools, text processing tools, pedagogical programs, digital dictionaries and text-to-speech.
Tools like the ones we develop here, are a prerequisite for any language wanting to survive in a modern society.
Tools for grammar and analysis
We have made a number of tools which analyse and generate words, paradigms and text, for the following languages:
- Tools for Sámi languages: North Sámi, Lule Sámi, South Sámi, Inari Sámi, Skolt Sámi, Kildin Sámi.
- Tools for other languages: Cornish, Faroese, Komi, Greenlandic, Iñupiaq Greenlandic.
