Transfer lexica
Transfer lexica for North Sámi -> Lule Sámi and North Sámi -> Norwegian Bokmål is under construction. The former is financed by a grant from the Norwegian Research Council. They can be found here: words/dicts/smesmj/src and words/dicts/smenob/src.
Projects
We are currently working on a prototype rule-based North Sámi - Lule Sámi MT system. It is based on Apertium, an open source machine translation platform which was designed for closely related languages. North Sámi - Lule Sámi are closely related languages, and thus constitute a natural start for work on machine translation. This is a joint project between Giellatekno and Universitat d'Alacant.
